Narek Zohrabyan is the founder and principal intellectual property attorney of Phil IP Law Inc., a boutique firm serving inventors, entrepreneurs, startups, businesses, and creators. He handles both transactional and litigation matters involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and related business issues.
Before focusing on private practice, Narek spent more than three years as a patent examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. That experience gives him first-hand insight into how patent examiners evaluate applications and how agency rules and procedures affect an inventor's path toward patent protection. Earlier in his career, he worked as a test engineer at Boeing's Satellite Development Center on United States Navy communications satellites. His technical background includes digital image processing, digital signal processing, control systems, and communications systems.
Narek earned bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering, with a minor in mathematics, and served as a National Science Foundation GK-12 Fellow. He earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law and is admitted to practice in California and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. His combination of engineering, patent-examination, and legal experience allows him to understand complex technology, anticipate prosecution issues, and provide practical intellectual property guidance aligned with a client's commercial objectives.
